Bonbon befriends a Ferret ...Dick - the Escape Artist

Brillaint news about Bonbon - he is recovering really well - the Vet faculty in the University are calling him the 'Miracle Puppy' - he was in such a bad state that they didn't think he'd survive but he got out of hospital on Monday and is staying with Loly and Manolo. He has to be kept away from Loly's other puppies so they have erected him a little home on the roof with their ferret!! Apparently over the past 2 days they have become great friends, they lick each other clean, sleep together and eat together. Just the real love bizz! Loly says she will send some photos of them as they are so funny together. There has also been news that there is a new Animal Protection Society in Germany that has opened and their main objective will be to protect these little hunting dogs. They have been in touch with the Canaries and want to see photos of Bonbon - so he may yet go off to far off fields - he really is going to have a lovely, doggy life - a far cry from what he would have had here. I am so happy about the way things are turning out.
Tricky Dicky is becoming the Escpae Artist supreme - he can climb the fencing and balance acrobatic style and then he does a great leap into the air and is free! He had been ill with the same virus as Bonbon but we caught it quickly so he is nearly ok - not 100% but still able to resume his fence-climbing trick. I had heard that Jack Russels were used in the circus and Dick sure is showing his circus-trick tendancies : )) We have to try to repair the fence to make sure he stays in as the neighbours here can not stand free dogs and lay poison for them!

Liz,
What a wonderful story. I like that BonBon could be a spokesdog for the protection of others..So Very Cool Beans..
Brenda, hi there - yeah isn't it fantastic about Bonbon! Loly is going to send me some photos of Bonbon and his ferret friend - will post them on the blog...they should be hilarious!
Thanks for stopping by : )
OMG. bonbon is adorable!!! he's got that mr lonely look that makes me want to steal him, cuddle him and kiss his wet nose. i'm really glad that he's pulling through — i hear that the parvovirus is a real puppy killer.
dick is a riot! hope he behaves and stays in.
and i know what you mean about moving on after a poem has been written — i'm the same myself. have always seen writing as a kind of child-birthing... finished poems are like teenagers, you wouldn't want them back in your house. but when they can't find a home out there, i take them in again, clean them up, maybe give them new clothes, then kick them out again. heh!

Hi Arlene,
Love your 'steal, cuddle and kiss' reaction to Bonbon ; ) Am hoping to get some updated photos of him with Mz. Ferret! : )
Hee-hee ...ouch - birthing is right...my finished poems are a bit more like toddlers on dodgy legs making those first wobbly moves - the plonk of bottom on ground is where I try to kiss things better and make for home and end up getting stuck with them!
Like the pick-up-and-go stamina of your teenagers ; ))
