A Bucket and Spade in a Heat Wave

Just preparing to go lie on a beach - the merciless heat has landed. The pets are all indoors even Escape Artist Dick has no desire to climb the fence....until the cool of evening of course : )

congrats on the word riot poems, liz! love both poems — wonderfully evocative.

we've got the heat wave here, too. have no desire to stay beside this infernally hot computer. it's practically breathing up on me.

Arlene, great to see you about the place ; )

Gosh, I am sweating most unladylike here - and to add to my consternation, the kennels where Páidi and Dick were going to hang out is dangerously close to a mountain fire so we have to find them another place - and at this late stage with every one making off on their hols. there may be no room at any Inn for the 2 fellas!
Fingers crossed something turns up...

Are you going away anywhere, Arlene?
