A Nice Surprise...
Cacti SurpriseThanks to reading Barbara Smith's great poem. I discovered qarrtsiluni and sent a poem off for their Transformation themed issued. A few hours later I got an acceptance ... and I get the option of doing a recording of the poem. This is something I've been meaning to experiment with but have never quite got round to...this may be the incentive I need, but first I got to give my laptop the once over to figure out if it has a microphone... : ) I've enjoyed reading the poems in qarrtsiluni a lot ...they are open for submissions until the end of July so maybe consider sending there. : )

You'll find it easy enough to record on your lappy, the guys at qarrtsiluni can do a great clean up job, or failing that there are other options, involving a phone!
Thanks Barbara. I'll definitely need that clean-up job - the recording is coming out like a whisper with background whizzing! I'll keep at it though as I have the house to myself today...so don't feel so weird about reading aloud : )

Thanks for reading, Sharon and Brenda - still haven't got the recording sorted ...I bought some speakers and have found the microphone on the laptop ; ) So maybe there is hope... ; )
