Stocking Up on Summer Reading

Around this time of the year I always do a major Amazon book shopping spree and get the books sent to my parent's house where I'll be hanging out for a month or so. I love arriving in Donegal and seeing the box of books sitting there on the chest of drawers waiting for me.
So I'm on the look-out for new poets to read and I've just found Tony Hoagland through Timothy Green of Rattle. The first poem of his I've read is America - amazing stuff, just love the combination of hard fact and crunching humour.
Another poet is
Joe Kane from Donegal, my own neck of the woods. I'm going to get The boy who nearly won the Texaco art competition
I'm still searching - if you have any recommendations, please pass them on.

Congrats on Magma!
Have you read Fernando Pessoa? One of my favorite poets.
Hi Sarah, welcome back from your hols : )
I've been reading up about this guy - very interesting philosophy about all the different voices - like what I've read so far ...might
delve in more there. Thanks.

If you like Joe Kane, you'll like Iggy McGovern. He's from COleraine, published by Dedaluspress
