Longlisted for the Bridport Prize for Poetry

We just called to Lencho, the sweetie-shop man that keeps our mail, we usually go there on a Sunday lunch time to have an aperitivo in the local bar next door. Within the heap of bank letters and bills I found a letter from the Bridport Prize people to say that my poem
A Bruising on the Bone made it into the longlist. I don't get a prize or anything but I'm sure happy to be longlisted. : ) I'm not too sure if longlisting means publication...the full judge's report will be posted on the website from the 20th of November. Meanwhile I'm treating it as a cause for celebrating, even if only slightly ...here's to wine bottles/a bottle emptying. ; )

Congrats, Liz! Lovely to be long-listed, too.
yay for you, liz!
hope you had a few drinks as you certainly deserved more than ONE aperitivo for this. :)

Thanks Sarah and Michi - it's my first time hearing of a longlist...nice to squeeze in there even if the list is massively long ; )
Michi, only the one aperitivo ...but a few vinos at home without the hindrance of the car : )
