Balconies of Barcelona....Raving Dove Rejection

Had a super time in Barcelona. We didn't get doing as much as we thought we would due to the age old factor of time and energy :) We 'did' Picasso, Miró and Barcelona balconies by day and became frantic tequila and cuba libre drinkers by night : )

Raving Dove

** Just got the following rejection from Raving Dove.

Dear writers, photographers, and artists,

Thank you so much for your generosity in wishing to contribute to Raving Dove Online Literary Journal.

The support we have received for this endeavor has been overwhelming. Your collective publishing credits, education and life experiences humble us when it comes time to make selections for the next edition.

In piecing together each edition, we strive to have each contribution add something different to the mix. The compilations are kept small so that each contribution is more likely to be read or viewed, and appreciated. For this reason, we only accept a very small percentage of the hundreds of submissions that we receive.

Although the submission(s) you have sent will not be included in February's Raving Dove, we invite you to send other work at any time. We review work throughout the year, and would be most appreciative if you considered us again in the future. Work that sends a strong anti-war, anti-violence, humanitarian or peace-themed message is given top consideration. Please check our submissions page for any guideline updates.

With kind regards,

Jo-Ann Moss, Editor

Barcelona

Since this week-end I couldn't go to Lanzarote for a work meeting (a really long story), we decided just 'hey-presto-like' to go to Barcelona next week-end as I can catch a replica meeting in Barcelona! I have never booked and paid for tickets so fast in my life. It's been about 9 years since we've been there and we have a good German friend Wolfgang who we can stay with. We leave on Thursday morning and return Sunday night. I'm absolutely excited about it even though money-wise we can't totally afford it but we'll just have to sacrifice some house repairs to break even :) We are madly preparing a list of everything we want to see again (Picasso Museum, Miró, Gaudi's Sagrada Familia, the Gothic area, Barcelona football match, strolling the ramblas, queueing for restaurants, live music, the Sunday flea-market...)Got heaps to do before leaving though so must not lose the head too quickly :) Some times some clouds can have supersonic, super-shiney, silver linings :)

Wicked Alice and Lily

The All-Alice issue of Wicked Alice is up with poems from Arlene, Sarah and Michi and little ol' me with 'Rejuvenating Alice': http://www.sundress.net/wickedalice/contents21.html

Lily is also just up. Truly love the art and poetry in this zine. They also have chapbooks on pdf. Lisa Prince makes her chapbook debut there. My poem: Falling Out of Love (or Remaining Untrained in Kite-Flying) is also there. http://freewebs.com/lilylitreview/

Dad Update

Dad had surgery yesterday. Everything seems to have gone well...thanks everyone for the prayers and good vibes. He slept most of yesterday and is gradually wakening today.
