Bits and Bobs (and Pet Update!)

Well, the news on Dick is that he has had to be demoted from the Valentino of the valley to the civil dog next door - yes he's had the Op. Hormone-wise, he seems still well up to his old tricks of escaping - before my eyes the other day he did a type of frog-like jump and made it over a high-ish wall in one foul swoop! His lady friend is in heat again and the owner has warned us of not letting Dick anywhere near her, hence the operation! ; )) He is still as funny as anything though and I know it is he who partly keeps my blood free of serious-life-stress hormones! ; ))

Work is going well - lots of eager students who are knuckling down to work as their official Cambridge exams are around the corner! And after years of forwarding paper-work to the Spanish authorities, they have eventually recognised my degree qualifications which means I can sit official Spanish exams and become a bona-fide civil servant here! Not sure if that is on the cards though!

Farming-wise, we are still besotted with the place - lots of plans are cooking and we still cannot thank our lucky stars enough for having bought it!

Holiday plans - Ireland for sure and maybe Cape Verde Islands even though in my heart I am pining for Thailand again : ) We'll see!
And of course the usual worry is of having to put the pets in kennels - if any online friends fancy a month or so here in August with accomodation and built-in pets guaranteed to bring a smile, and a farm to hang out in...please, let me know : ))

Oh and the wooden terrace is up - we are as snug as bugs in rugs and the stars still get winking right before us! ; )

oh no! i guess that means no more sowing the wild oats for dick, liz. can you imagine a house full of miniature dicks jumping froglike around you? hehe.

i am so tempted by that house full of animals... but will resist. all your planting will be gone by the time i leave. i'm an honest-to-goodness plantlife killer. :)

oh, if you ever wish to go to the philippines, let me know. we always love an excuse to tour the islands with friends... and my sis-in-law makes a chilly crab dish to die for. ;)

that's sooooo great about having your degree recognized!!! must be a relief.

cheers,
a.

p.s. only annie and i are left in 30:30. WE ARE SO LONELY. **nudgenudgewinkwink**

Thanks for stopping by Sarah, Collin and Arlene - sorry for delay in getting back - hectic is the word for my present comings and goings! : )

Sarah, my brothers and sister keep saying the same thing about my nephews and nieces - 'pack them over to Liz' : ) Maybe I could set up a teenage-hang-out on the farm! ; )

Collin, thanks for the finger-crossing - looks like Thailand is out of reach this year but we've managed to get our pennies together for a trip to Andalucia in the South of Spain - should be fun too : )

Arlene, miniature-dicks?? - gives me both the shivers and delights at the same time : )) Talking of which, just after his op. I saw an ad selling miniature-dicks for 650€a puppy!! minus Dick's hunting dog ears and legs but exact same colour ; )) Maybe i could have had the Thai trip after all... ; ))
Oh and the Philippines - would adore going there too ...: )

Arlene, as for 30:30 - would love to poem-away with yourself and Annie but I am, at last, all signed up for a Spanish exam (backed out last year ; )) and with work being hectic just now, the muse would not have breathing space in my head...after the 11th of June, I hope to get cracking again. Please hang in till then and beyond.... : )
