30 Poems in 30 Days

Yesterday, I finished writing the 10th round of 30 poems in 30 days at Inside the Writers' Studio - that is 10 rounds in about two and a half years. Time to have myself a glass of chilled white wine and stretch out my quite short legs into the lovely dusk approaching over our newly tiled terrace. : )

Well done Liz,enjoy your vino ,you've earned it.The titles of your poems always sound so interesting, titles are one of the many things I struggle with.I particularly like 'I have a red leather jacket from Mrs Quinns charity shop'and hope to one day read a poem about'Shoulder blades' a much neglected body part in poetry I've always thought.
Ps I haven't got my copy of Revival yet. You?

Hi TFE,
Thanks - yeah, Mrs Quinn's is a fav. of mine too...as for shoulder blades - got them burnt red from a camping trip and hence the poem - I'm a right cheapo hussy when it comes to poem themes - nothing is sacred! ; )

Dominic just wrote to ask for my address here so I think Revival is in the post...he sent me a launch link...just a 3 min. intro. it's here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGwQEwe4cB4
cheers, TFE

Wow, Liz. That's an amazing achievement.
Can't wait to read the Mrs Quinn's one.
(In a further Mrs Q update, I got a 9ct gold baby bracelet in the local one for Juno. €5!!! They are €70-ish on ebay. And I recently had the cheek to slag them...all is forgiven!)

Hi Nuala, thanks - the first 10 days are the toughest and then the discipline and routine kick in (plus loads of Tetleys tea!)! ; )

That is amazing, Nuala, I will be seeking out Mrs Qs left, right and centre when I get to Ireland. I bet it looks adorable on Juno...is there anything that Mrs Q doesn't deal in, I ask myself!

It is such a commitment to your work to do that. I'm in awe. All I can imagine is struggle but I can see that one might hit a groove too.

I left the bracelet in to get her name engraved on the plate bit for her christening on 2nd Aug. So retro, so cute!! Are you in Irl then? Come to the party!

You think Mrs Q's is good, you should try the V de P shops. They are fab. I've gotten everything from lamps to antique plates. I'm a committed charity shop fan.

Nuala, I am a total charity shop addict too and since they don't have any here, I go wild when in Ireland! ; )

Doing 30:30 does stimulate me, even though at times it is a pain in the behind...I always end up surprising myself though and maybe about one third of the poems, I end up really liking and getting somewhere with...

Bet the bracelet is cute especially with her name engraved on it.
